New South East Cambridge Elementary Joint Use Facility

Client: Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) and Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB)

ward99 architects was invited by the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) and Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) to participate in the RFP process to design a new elementary school. ward99’s vision was a school that serves as a community building to support both collaboration and co-collaboration of students, staff, and the neighbouring community. The main spaces of the school are designed in such a way that the central gymnasium and library spaces could be closed off from the two school building wings, thus allowing community use of those spaces after regular school hours.
