The David Bouchard Public School is a new two-story Jk to 8 elementary school building housing 25 classrooms and 3 kindergarten classrooms. The school is named after David Bouchard, a famous Native Canadian artist, and storyteller. David Bouchard’s native paintings and symbols adorn the walls of the gymnasium and provide students with a colourful and inspiring learning space. A double height atrium space glazed in fritted glass is designed to offer students and visitors a welcoming and inclusive entrance. The school won a City of Oshawa Urban Design Award.
